More consistent color reproduction
What is Required for Stochastic Printing?
High quality original artwork (transparencies, photos, etc.) for scanning
High resolution scans with no less than 300dpi as per conventional printing
Accurate color proofs calibrated to DNP printing conditions
Recommended only for printing on coated paper stocks
Value added service, DNP does not charge any extra cost for Stochastic printing
Stochastic Screening vs. Conventional Screening
Stochastic screening uses smaller dots that are randomly placed throughout the image, which allows for a more continuous tone feel and for the reproduction of finer detail. With stochastic screening, you are running the equivalent of a 285-line screen.
Conventional screening uses larger dots which create screen angles resulting in a more obvious dot pattern.
